Powered by Goethe Institut: Cardboard Construction and Mechanisms
Take a cardboard box and transform it into something new and personally meaningful. In this workshop, we'll closely observe the properties of cardboard as a building material, create playful prototypes, test out simple mechanisms and get inspired by large scale installations and artworks made by cardboard artists. This workshop will provide a fun and interesting way to collaborate with your family, experiment with your own ideas and make something unexpectedly awesome!

Ryan Jenkins
Ryan Jenkins is a constructionist educator operating as the co-founder and managing director of Wonderful Idea Co, an innovative design company that develops learning materials, environments and resources. His workshops make use of a wide range of materials including unusual electronics, programmable microcontrollers, physical wood/wire mechanisms, light and shadow elements and sound installations. Previously Ryan was a founding member of the Tinkering Studio, a maker space at the Exploratorium where visitors can experiment with real tools, materials and phenomenon.
